Is Kyle Anderson playing in Game 5? Updated Timberwolves injury report vs Nuggets
By Will Eudy
With Anthony Edwards’ dominant 34-point outing on Sunday night at Target Center, the Minnesota Timberwolves avoided a series sweep against the Nuggets and will travel back to Denver down 3-1.
With Minnesota’s home crowd sending the team off after the win with chants of “Wolves in seven,” there is clearly still an excited and optimistic viewpoint from the fanbase. However, no NBA team has ever come back to win a series after falling behind 0-3.
To pull off an improbable win on the Nuggets’ home turf and extend the series, the Timberwolves will need as many able bodies as they can muster. In the second half of Game 4, Kyle Anderson went down with an injury, and his status is in question for Tuesday night.
Kyle Anderson injury status for Game 5:
When Anthony Edwards and Kyle Anderson both attempted to defend a DeAndre Jordan dunk attempt at the end of the third quarter in Game 4, Edwards’ outstretched hand inadvertently struck Anderson’s left eye, ruling him out for the remainder of the contest.
As of right now, Kyle Anderson is listed as out for the Timberwolves due to a left eye injury/facial contusion. For SloMo to be missing an elimination game in the playoffs, one would have to think he must be experiencing some serious pain in his eye.

Naz Reid remains out for Minnesota after undergoing surgery on his broken left wrist. Jaden McDaniels is also still sidelined with the broken right hand he suffered in the Wolves’ regular season finale.
Aside from Anderson, Jaylen Nowell is the only remaining player on the Timberwolves’ injury report. Nowell is listed as questionable due to knee soreness.
Full Nuggets injury report vs Timberwolves:
Collin Gillespie was ruled out for the season for the Nuggets in the final week of the regular season with a lower leg injury. Nikola Jokic was actually listed as questionable on Denver’s injury reported headed into Game 4 with wrist soreness.
Of course, Jokic ended up playing for the Nuggets and scoring 43 points. There is little reason to think he would not be in Denver’s lineup for Game 5, but it is something to monitor for sure.
