Who are the Minnesota Timberwolves targeting in the 2023 NBA Draft:? That’s a very good question, and at the moment we really do not know the answer. But we do have new information regarding prospects who are scheduled for a workout with the team.

While the Timberwolves are currently armed with just one draft pick, the 53rd overall pick that will fall in Round 2 of the 2023 NBA Draft, solid contributors can be found anywhere on the draft board.

So who are the Timberwolves auditioning? Let’s take a look:

  1. G Damion Baugh (TCU)
  2. F Marcellus Earlington (San Diego)
  3. SG/SF Caleb McConnell (Rutgers)
  4. PG Mike Miles Jr. (TCU)
  5. F Justyn Mutts (Virginia Tech)
  6. PF Race Thompson (Indiana)

That is a wide-ranging group of players, and all have questions about their ability to show up and immediately contribute to the Timberwolves roster. In fact, it’s a bit much to unpack in one line each.

While the Minnesota Timberwolves enter the 2023 NBA Draft with just one second-round pick, the team could always trade for more with future years’ second-round picks to acquire more in 2023. Plus there is the option to literally purchase picks on draft night. So let’s take the time to feature this sextet of rookie prospects, and see who of the group may have some flash to them.
