Timberwolves decision to build around Anthony Edwards is right choice

Looking out for the little guy
Anthony Edwards is a phenomenal NBA player at any age. But when you realize that everything accomplished by the young man so far has occurred before the young man turned 22 years old, then the promise to become an elite NBA player comes into focus.
It helps that the team is not starting from scratch already. The team has one of the NBAs best defenders in small forward Jaden McDaniels, who himself is just one year older than Edwards. McDaniels has been a shut-down defender who is now making great strides on the offensive side of the basketball court. Look out for his sweet trey, as he hit 39.8 of his perimeter shots in the 2022-23 NBA season.
Another young gun who returns to the Timberwolves roster is center Naz Reid. Reid is just two years older than Edwards and just signed an extension to remain on the team for several more years. Reid is an incredibly versatile player for the Timberwolves, able to plug and play as either the 4 or 5 spots in the rotation.
Building the right team for Ant-Man
They are just two teammates who, when considering the skill sets and needs of a roster that complements their young star, the Minnesota Timberwolves believe that they are on the yellow brick road to the city of Oz.
And who will lead them to the promised land? Ant-Man, of course.
Is it all too much too soon? Perhaps.
But in all of the players recently added, be it rookies from the 2023 NBA Draft or new players signed via the NBA Free Agency market, there is a common theme. All of the Timberwolves’ new additions are gritty, can stretch the floor, can hand their hats on defense, will do what it takes to win, and love to compete.
They all sound like versions of Anthony Edwards, don’t they? And if the Timberwolves build a gritty team that competes hard on every possession? Well, good things are bound to happen.
