The stage for the latest NBA blockbuster trade is set. After Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard made his views crystal clear about his desire to compete for an NBA Championship now, the Trail Blazers used the third overall pick themselves to select guard Scoot Henderson. While Henderson is considered by a consensus of NBA scouts and analysts to possess NBA star potential, he is a rookie.

That won’t cut it for Dame Lillard, who wanted the Trail Blazers to add at least one significant NBA veteran to the team’s roster. Well, that didn’t happen, and now he has demanded to be traded.

That’s started the NBA Rumors blazing and crackling as though they had thrown a truck tire onto a campfire on the shores of a frozen lake. While early reports cited the Miami Heat, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Philadelphia 76ers as three teams that were in the mix to land Lillard, a player of that magnitude is going to get inquiries from every NBA team.

NBA Rumors: Bleacher Report adds TImberwolves to Dame Sweepstakes

In fact, per Bleacher Report’s own Chris Hanes, you can include the Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, and the New Orleans Pelicans among the NBA Teams that have reached out to inquire about the availability and terms of trading for Lillard. But the team that I want to talk about in those discussions is the Minnesota Timberwolves, as they were also involved in the discussions:

So what might this trade look like?

Next. 9 players the Minnesota Timberwolves gave up on too soon. dark

Well, we know what has been said. the Portland Trail Blazers want to get an elite package of players and picks for Dame Lillard. But every negotiation begins at a point where the holder of the player demands the highest possible price. But what cant the Minnesota Timberwolves conceivably offer to make this trade?
