Patrick Beverley and D’Angelo Russell share Timberwolves secrets on podcast
By Will Eudy
Hearing D’Angelo Russell’s clarification for his controversial comments was reassuring, but both he and Patrick Beverley did not stop there in expressing their love for the Minnesota Timberwolves. “My best year ever playing basketball was in Minnesota,” said Beverley.
It should come as no shock that Pat Bev was trying to reunite with his friends on the Timberwolves at the trade deadline. As loved as he is by fans, every comment he has made since being traded away indicates that he loves the team even more.
D’Lo had higher praise for the Wolves than many may have expected. “They opened my eyes to the game at a level that I didn’t see the game from,” said Russell.
Both players still have a lot of love for the Timberwolves
Overall, the two former Timberwolves both agreed that playing in Minnesota was simply a lot of fun. D’Angelo Russell pointed out that there are a few young players in the Wolves’ locker room that do not get the attention they deserve. “The Naz’s, the Jaden’s … I like Luka Garza,” said Russell. “It’s a lot of dudes over there that should get some more attention.”
Hearing these two give such high praise to Minnesota in such a candid discussion has to feel good for Wolves fans. No matter how many years pass, Patrick Beverley and D’Angelo Russell will be remembered in the Twin Cities for a long time.
