Last season, I found myself enthralled with the 2022 NBA Summer League and the performances of players who competed on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster. It was a passionate indulgence, an opportunity to see how well the new Timberwolves players competed together, and a chance to envision how well the team would fill any future roster needs from among those few games.

But out of sight, out of mind, it seems. At least, that is how recollections and memories of last year’s summer league performances seemed to easily face out of my mind. So now that the Timberwolves 2023 2K24 NBA Summer League is at the season’s mid-point, let’s do everyone a favor and put down a record of each game that we can refer back to going forward.

I’m not saying that I will have a complete game summary, but wouldn’t it be nice to record who played in which games, what they did in the 2023 NBA 2K24 Summer League Competition (statistics-wise), and who seemed to stand out in the competition?  Here is the summary of all of the players who did compete for the Timberwolves S/L team, and their final stats:

So, of the group, who has a chance to be added to the Timberwolves roster? That’s a tough question to answer and one that we’ll need to discuss at length.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have used performances from NBA Summer League competition to steer their Two-Way contracts in the past. Right now, the Timberwolves have two of three accounted for. So who will it be from the list above?

For point guards, the competition comes down to either Brandon Williams or D.J. Carton. While Williams is the more offensively-charged point guard, D.J. Carton is the better defender and facilitator.

Hot. How well have the Timberwolves Two-Way contracts performed in the past?. light

For front court figures, the Timberwolves rookie forward Leonard Miller led everyone in rebounds, while forward Josh Minott led all in blocked shots. And so, if the Timberwolves are prepared to make a contract offer, their final Two-Way contract for the 2023-24 NBA season, you should expect a point guard to be signed up.
