The 3 most underpaid Timberwolves for next season
By Will Eudy
2. Kyle Anderson — $9.2 million
After joining the Timberwolves via free agency in summer of 2022, Kyle Anderson proceeded to have a career season in the Twin Cities. Not viewed as a high-profile signing at the time, Anderson showed that he can be a valuable piece for this Wolves team for years to come.
With Karl-Anthony Towns missing over half the regular season in 2022-23, Anderson stepped up and filled in to help Minnesota stay above water and keep their playoff hopes alive. He did not necessarily fill up the highlight reels, but his steady production consistently led to wins for the Timberwolves.
In the second of his two-year contract with the Wolves, Slo-Mo will be earning a meager $9.2 million. He will be underpaid this coming season just based on his contributions in the last 12 months.
Any player that shoots 50% from the field and 40% from three while being an above average individual and team defender is worth at least an eight-figure yearly salary in the NBA. Especially in this day and age, where massive contracts are handed out regularly.
It is not unreasonable at all to think that Kyle Anderson could be in the market for a new contract that pays him at least $15 to $20 million per year next summer.
