Kevin Garnett has lofty expectations for Anthony Edwards
By Will Eudy
No matter how long it takes before his jersey is retired, Kevin Garnett is comfortably the greatest player in Minnesota Timberwolves franchise history. A true basketball savant, Garnett is constantly mentoring young players and keeping in tune with the NBA even in 2023.
As such, he has been monitoring the progress of the greatest player of the next era of Timberwolves basketball: Anthony Edwards. It is always reassuring when Garnett steps in and reminds the fanbase that he still has a finger on the pulse of the organization.
Recently, KG reposted an Instagram post of Anthony Edwards working out with Team USA and added his own bold commentary. In his caption, he challenged Edwards to win the MVP this coming season.
Kevin Garnett is challenging Anthony Edwards to win MVP this season.
Garnett’s continued dedication to the players on his former team is always a welcome sight, and the fact that he thinks so highly of Edwards speaks volumes. In addition to telling Edwards to “go grab MVP this year,” Garnett also acknowledged Ant’s hard work ethic.
Recognizing Edwards as a “young future great,” Garnett details how the experience of playing with the World Cup team is going to prepare Ant for even greater achievements in the coming NBA season as well. As someone who was one of the best players on earth in his heyday, it is safe to say Garnett knows greatness when he sees it.
KG finishes off his post by letting everyone know he will be sitting back and watching the show this year. If Garnett’s predictions are any indication, Timberwolves fans are in for quite a treat in year four for Anthony Edwards.
