With the 2023-24 NBA season schedule set to be released next week, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming days for Minnesota Timberwolves fans. The Wolves ultimately did not get selected for any opening night or Christmas Day games, but there is still plenty more excitement in store.

One of the most hyped annual events is the release of the team’s new jerseys for the coming season. The Association and Icon uniforms have remained the same for the Timberwolves every year since 2017-18, but the Statement and City edition jerseys are typically refreshed every year or two.

On Thursday, it was rumored that Minnesota is planning to reveal their new city edition uniforms for the coming season in short order. Prominent Wolves podcaster Dane Moore noted that he believes the announcement will come on Sunday.

The Timberwolves’ new city edition jerseys will reportedly be revealed this weekend.

If that is the case, Wolves fans will have a solid idea of what all four of the team’s jerseys will look like in the next few days, with there being no indicators of a new statement jersey on the way. Many fans will be hoping for an upgrade over last year’s city edition jersey.

While the 2022-23 Twin Cities-inspired city jersey grew on some as the year went on, many still hope they never see the light of day again. Timberwolves fans infamously roasted the jersey for days on end when it was first released last October.

On the other hand, the 2021-22 city uniform was seemingly universally loved by the fanbase, with the bright blue tone and tree lining paying homage to Minnesota’s past eras. Only a few days remain until we see the latest of the Timberwolves’ historically creative city jerseys.
