Minnesota will travel to face the defending champions in their third-to-last game of the regular season. Their first game against the Nuggets this season will come on November 1, but they will go over five months before facing the 2023 champs again.

After Bruce Brown’s comments about Minnesota being Denver’s toughest playoff opponent, Wolves fans will no doubt be excited to watch the two go toe-to-toe on national TV once again. But this time, the Timberwolves will actually have a fully healthy roster.

When the Nuggets took down Minnesota in five games in the first round of the 2023 playoffs, the Wolves were down Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid, who both suffered injuries in the final weeks of the regular season. Without them, the team was less equipped to deal with the likes of smart and athletic wings like Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr.

Despite this, they still came just a few points away from sending the series to six games. Whether the players openly say it or not, they have to feel they would have had an excellent chance of winning that series with a complete roster. This game against Denver on ESPN will give them another chance to show the national audience that they are on the same level as the Nuggets.
