On August 25, one of the greatest spectacles of international basketball will begin. The FIBA World Cup will feature 32 national teams playing in three different countries fighting for one final trophy. Several players from the Minnesota Timberwolves will be partaking in the action.

Eight groups of four, featuring marquee matchups such as Canada versus France in Group H, Germany and Australia in Group E and the United States against Greece should all have us glued to our screens. Out of these four teams in each group, only the two best advance to the second round.

From there, four new groups will be formed, and the two teams that win the most games of each will advance to the final phase. In this phase, teams will go head-to-head in a one game elimination format until only two squads remain in the finals in the Philippines.

Several important dates for the tournament:

Group stage: August 25 to August 30
Seeding games (teams eliminated in group stage): August 31 and September 2
Second round: September 1 and 3
Quarterfinals: September 5 and 6
Seeding games (teams eliminated in quarterfinals): September 7 and 9
Third place game: September 10 – 4:30am EST
Finals: September 10 – 8:40am  EST

Every game will be streamed on the NBA app through the Courtside1891 subscription pass. The pass can be purchased at a 20% discount with the code: FIBAWCEP

Between the 32 teams participating, some of the biggest names from the NBA will be suiting up. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Lauri Markkanen and plenty more will be taking part in the action. However, the focus is not on them today. Here, we will take a look at the Minnesota Timberwolves who are playing and everything you need to know to follow their performances.
