Timberwolves Karl-Anthony Towns: A KAT on a hot Team Dominican Republic

For Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star power forward Karl-Anthony Towns, putting the disappointing 2022-23 NBA season behind him is the first step to reclaiming his standing among NBA elite players. To do that, he needed both distraction and entertainment. Distraction to take his mind off the NBA and the endless stream of new ways and scenarios to trade him away from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Entertainment because he needed to find his infectious smile. Towns is a passionate player, but the frustration of playing in just 29 games, and a sup-par season, was wearing down his love for the game. He needed to rediscover his love for basketball, and perhaps better yet, his ability to deliver.
So far, in playing for Team Dominican Republic, heโs done both:
Karl-Anthony Towns has already driven the hometown crowd in the Philipines to shower him with boos and catcalls after he paused to groom himself at the free-throw line.
