While many NBA fans are stuck in limbo, awaiting the start of the 2023-24 NBA season to quench their thirst for basketball, Minnesota Timberwolves fans have a lake full of the stuff. You see, the Timberwolves have flooded the 2023 FIBA World Cup competition, and the only thing that Wolves fans need to do is tune in to the FIBA competition, or catch up to the latest results by checking in here at Dunking With Wolves to get the latest results and stats of Timberwolves players.
We’ve shared a lot about how Anthony Edwards is leading Team USA, and how Karl-Anthony Towns is leveraging his masterful showmanship to play the perfect heel for Team Dominican Republic. But there are many more stories to fill up your Sunday morning cup of hot basketball.
For starters, we really have not shared a great deal about Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker, or the great job that he is doing so far for Team Canada.
We know that the Minnesota Timberwolves were quite pleased with their young shooting guard at the end of the 2022-23 NBA season.
2-0 for NAW and Canada. 🇨🇦

And there is this:
It’s great that KAT is shooting a bunch of 3s and that the DR is winning. And it’s great that Ant is “the guy” for Team USA. But what Nickeil Alexander-Walker is doing in this tournament is, to me, and by far, the most encouraging Wolves-related development. He looks awesome.

For Team Canada, NAW has been a solid contributor. In three games, he has put up the following numbers:
3 Games | 22.7 MPG | 12.7 PPG | 46.2 3P% | 2.7 RPG | 3.7 APG | 1.0 SPG | 0.3 BPG | +/- +24.0
That’s some solid numbers, and that is coming from a guy who will be competing in 82 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season.
While we turn our attention to Minnesota Timberwolves star shooting guard Anthony Edwards, and rightfully so, keep in mind to keep a look out for the other Minnesota Timberwolves star shooting guard.
He will be the one leading Team Canada to victory lane.
