13. 2022-23 City

This jersey is the elephant in the room. One of the most recent additions to this list, Wolves fans were caught by complete surprise to see these revealed last fall. Suffice to say, it was not a uniform universally beloved by the fanbase.

After the fantastic green and blue city jerseys revealed the prior season, it seemed like the organization might be leaning more and more into incorporating retro designs into their jerseys going forward. This iteration was a stark departure from that trend, and not in a good way.

The blank white design with black trim is only interrupted on the upper chest area, where an array of colors is patterned from left to right. This design is meant to represent Minnesota’s vibrant art community and creative thinkers.

This is a cool concept, but one that comes off as a disappointment when juxtaposed with the previous year’s design. One interesting aspect of this jersey is that they were actually each uniquely designed with a slightly different pattern across the front of each jersey. That caveat is enough to keep this one out of the bottom spot on our list.

12. 2023-24 City

This one admittedly may not have received the most fair ranking, simply for the fact that it has yet to actually be worn on the court. From the initial pictures, it at least appears to be an upgrade over the 2022-23 city jerseys.

The Timberwolves chose to take another unique angle with this one, paying tribute to the ‘land of a thousand lakes.’ Revealed at a special event on Lake Minnetonka, the jersey represents one of the most beloved aspects of summer life in Minnesota.

This jersey is the only one on the list that incorporates the blending of colors without hard boundaries between them. While it could end up looking nice on the court, we will need to see it before moving it up higher than 12th.
