9. 2017-present Icon

The counterpart to the current Association jersey is the Icon. Released at the same time in 2017, this one was also an update of a previous jersey, taking the place of the Wolves’ traditional ‘away’ jerseys.

Yes, this is largely just the same design as the Association but with different colors. But for some reason, it does not feel like as dramatic a departure as the white jersey. Regardless, this design still leaves something to be desired.

One noticeable difference between the 2008-2017 white/blue jerseys and the current ones are the lack of a side panel on the current iteration. Overall, the team could have done worse with their new-age design, but it still feels like an opportunity was squandered.

8. 2017-2022 Statement

Ah, the highlighter jerseys. I realize I may have these a bit higher on this list than some would, but I chose to put them at eighth largely because they are not afraid to be different. They take the bright, neon green color and completely own it.

While some fans may have hurt their eyes staring at these jerseys for too long, they were a worthy gamble by the team. The jersey uses the same motif as the 2017-present Icon and Association editions, but it goes all out with the color that makes the Timberwolves so unique.

The white stripe and numbering is particularly striking against the bright green background. For the five seasons Minnesota rocked this style, opposing fans never had to question who the other team was.

In the end, we can admit that while fun, the all green look was just a bit too much. That is why the next jersey on our list takes the edge over the highlighters.
