This week in the NBA has been a chaotic one to say the least. The stunning Luka Doncic trade has left everyone in disbelief, and in the last several days seemingly every press conference with a player or a coach has had to include a question about the league-shaking move. We got to see several reactions from inside the Minnesota Timberwolves' locker room on Monday, with Anthony Edwards' response being particularly notable.

Minnesota reporter Travis Singleton (aka SneakerReporter) captured Edwards' answer when he was asked about the blockbuster trade between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. "They say that nobody knew about the trade, so that's crazy," Edwards said. "At 25 they traded probably the best scorer in the NBA, and he didn't know about it. So there's a lot more digging somebody got to do to figure out why he got traded, because you don't just trade him at 25. He just went to the Finals."

When asked if players typically get informed of these types of trades, Ant was blunt. "Everybody. Everybody gets informed, yeah," he said. "I'm scared. Tim (Connelly), if you're gonna trade me, let me know, dawg. When Luka got traded, anybody is able to get traded at that point."

Edwards jokes that he is "scared" to get traded now

This is a hilarious answer from the Timberwolves' franchise player. And while his response was tongue-in-cheek, there is certainly a part of him that is being totally genuine. Ant has always rightly been confident he would not be shipped out in some last-minute trade where he gets blindsided, but now a small seed of doubt has perhaps been planted in his mind.

Like he said, if Luka can get traded like this, then who is really safe? As Edwards also notes, it certainly seems like something else is afoot with this situation besides Nico Harrison simply being bad at dealing with other teams leading up to the deadline. There would appear to have been an ulterior motive for Dallas to do this trade somewhere along the line. Whether we ever find out the truth about this remains to be seen.
