What team will LeBron James sign with? That's the question on the minds of everyone in the NBA world right now. Though some are doubtful of their chances, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in the mix for James' services throughout the process.
Recently, Anthony Edwards was asked about the Timberwolves' chances of signing LeBron. His response was short, but interesting.
Anthony Edwards was asked about his thoughts on Minnesota being on that short list of teams that LeBron is interested in:

Edwards' response to LeBron-Timberwolves rumors leaves fans with more questions than answers
On the one hand, Edwards might simply know that the Timberwolves are out of the running for LeBron. As he hinted at, the Wolves were not one of the three teams that Shams Charania reported earlier this week as frontrunners. Those would be the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers. Purely judging by what Edwards said, one could assume the Wolves are out of the running.
However, some astute viewers may have picked up on a couple of things. Firstly, Ant was smirking when he was asked this question, and after he answered it. He also immediately said, "I can't," before saying, "I have nothing to say about it."
Could Edwards have simply said the wrong two words at first? Absolutely. But maybe just maybe, Ant knows something we don't. That would certainly explain the smirking and the initial "I can't."
Look, I'm not going to sit here and try to say that Edwards' short comment guarantees that LeBron will be taking his talents to the Twin Cities.
There's also a possibility that Edwards is merely joking around and he doesn't actually know anything about LeBron's pending decision one way or another.
Regardless, there's a chance that Ant knows LeBron is at least considering the Wolves more than reports are indicating. If LeBron is genuinely still considering the Timberwolves, it's fair to believe that Edwards has been involved in the process at some level. Obviously, he's the best player on the team, but beyond that, the two players were Olympic teammates in 2024.
I could very well be reading too much into Edwards' body language and initial "I can't." At the end of the day, what LeBron is truly thinking will be somewhat of a mystery until he makes his official decision.
One thing is for sure, though: the Timberwolves offer LeBron an enticing basketball situation. They need a power forward, ideally one with the blend of connectivity and scoring that James can offer. With Ant and LaMelo Ball in the backcourt, the Wolves have ample creation and playmaking talent to help support LeBron. Arguably, no other team offers LeBron such an ideal basketball fit and the ability to compete for a title.
We'll have to wait and see what LeBron does, but Edwards' response certainly has fans wondering: What (if anything) does he know?
