Who knows if the Minnesota Timberwolves will sign LeBron James. However, as of now, they are still in the mix, and they have a fantastic pitch.

Recently, during an appearance on Bleacher Report's NBA Insider Notebook with Jake Fischer and Marc Stein, Chris Finch discussed the Timberwolves' pitch to James.

"It would be the fit, for sure," Finch said when asked about the Timberwolves' pitch to James. "We have a hole (at power forward) that he would easily fit into. The players alongside of him have done a lot of winning, are guys that could use his leadership as well. His knowledge, his insight, his championship expertise. I think it would be a fun group to play with. I know he's looking for happiness right now. I think the happiness quotient in Minnesota is extremely high."

Listen, there will likely be other factors in LeBron's decision, but from a pure basketball standpoint, it's hard to argue against Minnesota. After making two conference finals appearances in three seasons, the Wolves are on the brink of a championship run.

The Wolves upgraded their roster by trading for LaMelo Ball, and LeBron could be the final piece, particularly given their aforementioned need for a forward. Delivering a championship to a franchise that has never won one and a city that hasn't won a men's championship since the early 1991 would be a poetic way to add to his legacy.

The Timberwolves offer LeBron James an amazing basketball situation

With Ball and Anthony Edwards in the backcourt, James' life could be made much easier from a creation standpoint. Furthermore, Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels could help cover up for LeBron on defense.

The Timberwolves desperately need a versatile forward, like James, though. His skill set as a creator, high-IQ connector, rebounder and finisher would be immensely valuable.

Plus, as Finch mentioned, the Wolves are simply a fun team, considering their playstyle and the personalities on the roster. Even if the Wolves don't end up winning it all, LeBron will have a ton of fun with this group, and that should count for something, right?

As Finch pointed out, the Wolves could also use LeBron's leadership abilities. Needless to say, the 24-year veteran has a wealth of knowledge. And while the Wolves have a ton of playoff experience, they are still a young bunch (outside of Gobert) who could benefit from an extra veteran voice, particularly after the departure of Mike Conley.

James could help Edwards reach another level of greatness and grow as a leader. He could likewise help the uber-talented Ball. And of course, the four-time champ could help the Wolves get over the championship mountain.

Another thing that should be intriguing about the Timberwolves pitch is that they don't have any glaring problems. Okay, yes, they sorely need a forward. But what I mean is that the Wolves have a well-constructed roster where LeBron can seamlessly slide in and uplift the team.

Other possible suitors have glaring flaws: the Cleveland Cavaliers offer a storybook ending, but they lack on-ball defense -- the Miami Heat have next to no perimeter creation -- the Philadelphia 76ers have a team littered with ball-dominant players. And the Golden State Warriors simply don't have the talent needed to compete for a title even with James.

Minnesota simply has none of these concerns. McDaniels is an elite on-ball defender, Ant and LaMelo can excel on or off the ball, and this team is one forward away from being a genuine title threat.

At the very least, the Timberwolves offer a pitch that LeBron should consider, and Finch did a great job of summing up why it's so enticing.
