In the Minnesota Timberwolves' game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, Kevin Durant pulled out a show-stopping move that instantly went viral across social media. In the first quarter with just under 9:30 remaining, KD got a screen from Royce O'Neale that forced Julius Randle to switch onto him.

Once Minnesota's starting power forward shifted onto Durant, the four-time NBA scoring champion took one dribble, then hit a mean crossover that gave him a near-direct line of sight to the rim. The only hope the Wolves had to stop him at that point was Rudy Gobert helping over, but he was too late by the time KD was barreling down the lane. Durant threw down a two-handed flush.

The play came while the score was just 5-5, but it served to highlight a bigger overall point: the messy fit for Julius Randle on this Timberwolves roster.

Kevin Durant had Julius Randle lost on defense

To be entirely fair to Randle, this crossover move from KD would probably have a majority of NBA defenders looking lost. If you watch closely, Durant makes a very subtle movement that makes you think he is going to go left at first, before he quickly goes right instead.

But the overall point still remains. Randle's clunky fit on this roster is evident. There is not a lot of sense in Minnesota attempting to deal him at the trade deadline, given the lack of good options. And on top of that, he is not this team's biggest problem right now. But in the long-term, it is not far-fetched to think the Timberwolves will want to look at better-fitting, more affordable long-term fits.
