The second-round series between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves has become one of the most heartbreaking of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. Injuries have already defined the clash between the championship hopefuls, with superstars going down on both sides.
After Stephen Curry suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 that will keep him out for at least one week, Anthony Edwards suffered a sprained left ankle in Game 2.

Edwards appeared to suffer the injury after driving the lane and going up for a layup amid a sea of defenders. He avoided contact with other players, but landed at an awkward angle and instantly went down to the floor in pain.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN has provided video of the incident, focusing closely on what appeared to cause Edwards' pain and discomfort.

Thankfully, Edwards is already back on the court for warmups:

No matter what he's able to provide, the positive news is that Edwards avoided a more serious injury.
Anthony Edwards sprains left ankle, already back on the court
Edwards entered Game 2 hoping to change the tone of a series that began with an underwhelming performance. He finished Game 1 with 23 points and 14 rebounds, but head coach Chris Finch called his franchise player out for his lackluster effort.
Edwards and the Timberwolves were well on their way to righting the ship at the time of his injury, leading 37-19.
Unfortunately, Edwards missed the remainder of the first half after limping to the locker room. That inevitably painted the picture of disaster striking Minnesota in a painfully similar way to what plagued Golden State when Curry went down.
Disaster appears to have been averted, however, as Edwards is back on the court shortly after suffering the sprained left ankle.
However he's managed to shake off the pain, Edwards has somehow found a way to help the Timberwolves attempt to close out Game 2 and potentially pull the series even at 1-1. He's admittedly laboring around the court, but avoiding an injury to his Achilles has put many minds at ease.
One can only hope that Edwards is able to get as close as possible to 100 percent as the series progresses.
