The Minnesota Timberwolves are getting set to face off with the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night at Spectrum Center, in their second game against their Eastern Conference opponents this season. It will be the second night of a back-to-back for the Wolves, who are coming off a Tuesday night victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at Target Center.
Typically, over the course of the careers of Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball, Charlotte has actually surprisingly dominated this matchup. The Hornets hold a 5-2 record when both the aforementioned players suit up. Minnesota is clearly the better team here, but this is unlikely to be a game where the Timberwolves can waltz in and win without trying.
Is Mike Conley playing against the Hornets?
In the Timberwolves' latest updated injury report, Mike Conley has been listed as OUT - Rest.
The 37-year old Conley will sit after starting and playing 25 minutes on Tuesday night. Finch likely sees this as a game they can win even without everyone available, and Mike will need every ounce of energy he can muster for the playoffs next month.
