2. Bruno Caboclo - Brazil
While diehard fans are likely aware of who Jones is, Bruno Caboclo is more of a household name. From the famous Fran Fraschilla quote, "Two years away from being two years away," Caboclo's name has been in NBA circles since he was 18 years old. Now 28, Caboclo is perhaps the best Brazilian basketball player.
The 6-foot-9 forward absolutely dominated against Japan and the United States. Against the Japanese, Caboclo scored 33 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Of his 17 rebounds, nine were offensive. The Brazilian wing connected on 9-of-15 field goals and cashed in on all four three-pointers.
Following his impressive performance versus Japan, Caboclo scored 30 points against the United States. This time around, the 28-year-old forward drained 11-of-14 attempts from the floor. He shot better than 65.0 percent from the floor in three of five Olympic contests.
After coming stateside underdeveloped, Caboclo is now more than physically ready to compete with the athletes of the NBA. The Brazilian wing possesses a terrific physical profile. He's lanky, yet strong at 225 pounds. Caboclo plays more so like a power forward who can space the floor.
Although he was drafted to develop into the Kevin Durant mold, Caboclo has come into his own as of late. The 6-foot-9 forward played well for Partizan a season ago—leading the squad in field goal percentage and coming in at second in rebounds and blocks. Of all the players on the list, Caboclo has the most NBA playing experience.
