The Minnesota Timberwolves have had an up-and-down history, but there have no doubt been plenty of enjoyable and memorable stretches for the fanbase to enjoy. All throughout the Kevin Garnett era in the 90s and 2000s, Minnesota was a perennial contender that was absolute must-watch television on a nightly basis.

Fast forward to today, and we are seeing a renaissance of Timberwolves basketball led by Anthony Edwards. Minnesota is once again a top dog in the Western Conference, and their winning ways have ushered in a new era of prosperity in the Twin Cities. One of the most fun and interesting ways to measure streaks of success in a team's history is through looking at winning streaks.

Of course, a winning streak is defined as when a team wins more than one game in a row. The Timberwolves have a history of some longer winning streaks than some fans may be aware of. These are the eight longest winning streaks in Minnesota's history.

11-win streak: January 17, 2001 - February 13, 2001

The longest winning streak in Wolves history belongs to a Kevin Garnett-led Minnesota squad. The streak began with a road win over the Utah Jazz, and ended with a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Timberwolves won 47 games this season, directly after their first 50-win season in franchise history.

9-win streak: March 27, 2004 - April 14, 2004

This streak, the second-longest in Minnesota's history, came at the tail end of the team's greatest regular season ever. The Timberwolves won 58 games in 2003-04, and they won their final nine regular season games to reach that number. They would subsequently begin the playoffs 2-0 as well, leading to an unofficial 11-game win streak.

9-win streak: December 30, 2001 - January 18, 2002

The other nine-game win streak in Timberwolves history began at the very end of the calendar year in 2001 with a road victory against the Portland Trail Blazers. The ninth consecutive victory came at home against the Los Angeles Clippers, and the streak ended in an overtime loss in Phoenix.

7-win streak: November 1, 2023 - November 15, 2023

This is one of two 7-game win streaks from the 2023-24 Timberwolves season on this list, and this particular one was one Minnesota desperately needed. It came directly after their 1-2 start to the season, when many were frustrated with the team's slow start. The win streak began with an emphatic victory over the defending champion Denver Nuggets, and it also included a win over that season's eventual champion as well in the Boston Celtics.

7-win streak: February 19, 2003 - March 4, 2003

Interestingly enough, this Kevin Garnett-led squad also began their win streak with a win over the Denver Nuggets. The second win of the streak came against the following year's champion in the Detroit Pistons. This would be the final year Minnesota would win 50 games and lose in the first round with Garnett, breaking through to the West Finals the following season.

7-win streak: January 9, 1998 - January 24, 1998

Sitting at .500 at 16-16 overall in the second week of January in 1998, the Timberwolves rattled off six in a row before ending the streak with an overtime loss at the Toronto Raptors. This streak would help them get to the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time in franchise history.

6-win streak: November 26, 2023 - December 11, 2023

Just 11 days after their previous win streak of seven games from this season ended, Minnesota would take six in a row to close out November and begin December. In this stretch, they would take down the eventual top seed in the conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

6-win streak: February 28, 2022 - March 11, 2022

During the fabled Patrick Beverley season in Minnesota, this stretch of six wins in a row was also the beginning of what would become 10 wins in 11 games for the Timberwolves. This late-season stretch was what the Wolves needed to stay in the playoff picture and eventually secure a first-round playoff matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies.
