Best NBA prop bets today for Timberwolves vs. Nuggets

  • Michael Porter Jr. UNDER 16.5 points
  • Naz Reid OVER 6.5 rebounds
  • Anthony Edwards UNDER 27.5 points

Michael Porter Jr. UNDER 16.5 points

Sometimes forgotten as a reliable scorer behind Denver’s power duo in Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, this points prop is right around Porter’s scoring average for the year (16.8 points per game). However, Porter has shot just 39% from the field over four April contests and is 11-of-33 from downtown in that stretch.

In three matchups against Minnesota this season, Porter is averaging just 15 points per game while shooting a combined 16-of-36 from the field and 6-of-17 from downtown. Porter goes up against a Minnesota defense that is No. 1 in the NBA in net rating and fifth in the league defending triples.

Naz Reid OVER 6.5 rebounds

Given a bigger role with Karl-Anthony Towns lost for the last month with a knee injury, Reid was ejected after just eight minutes in Tuesday’s win over Washington. Prior to that ejection, Reid had gone over this rebounding total in three consecutive games (he’s averaging 7.4 boards per game in April) and 5-of-9 overall.

Reid totaled six boards his last time out against Denver and he’ll have fresh legs for Wednesday night against a Nuggets squad that is 21st in offensive rebounds allowed per game and No. 16 in defensive rebounding percentage. Look for Reid to crash the glass with success.

Anthony Edwards UNDER 27.5 points

Hold your breath with any Edwards’ under prop given his usage, but this point total looks to be a little high in what should be a defensive-minded matchup between two squads with championship aspirations.

Edwards has averaged 26.3 points per game in three contests against the Nuggets this season and has hit this number just twice in the last nine meetings against Denver. Edwards has averaged just 19.5 points in his last four road matchups with the Nuggets and he’s shot just 44.2% per game since the beginning of March.

Both defenses should set the tone in this matchup and Denver’s (No. 3 against 2-point shots and No. 7 against 3s) should have success against Minnesota’s leading scorer.
