Chris Finch significantly undervalued in odds to win NBA Coach of the Year

For much of the 2023-2024 NBA season, Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault has been the favorite to win Coach of the Year, but as we get into the final days of the regular season, the tides are turning. 

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch is getting a big push to win Coach of the Year as the T’Wolves appear poised to finish ahead of the Thunder in the Western Conference standings and possibly get the top seed amongst a crowded list of contenders.

Finch is +300 to win COY, behind only the odds on favorite Daigneault.

Following Tuesday’s victory over the Houston Rockets, the Timberwolves have the second best record in franchise history as the team was able to integrate a now healthy Rudy Gobert into the starting lineup better than last year, leading him to be the runaway favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year. 

However, it’s the offense that has taken a step forward as Anthony Edwards has emerged as an All-NBA candidate this season as well. 

Is Finch still undervalued? The team has moved to become an elite group on both sides of the ball while withstanding an injury to Karl-Anthony Towns.
