KAT makes an appearance at Timberwolves' facility ahead of training camp
By Will Eudy
Only five days remain until the Minnesota Timberwolves host media day, and just six are left until the team officially begins training camp. The 2024-25 season is just around the corner, and it is an exciting time to be a Wolves fan.
It has been so long that Minnesota came into a season with legitimate championship aspirations that many fans are probably too young to remember it. Coming off a season where they won 56 games and went to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 20 seasons, there is plenty of reason to be excited about Timberwolves basketball.
Some may think Minnesota will find it hard to repeat their success, but it seems apparent that they will be right back at the top of the West among the other top contenders. They retained most of their role players, with the exception of Kyle Anderson, and returned all of their stars. One of those stars was present at the Timberwolves' practice facility on Wednesday.
KAT was shooting around at Mayo Clinic Square on Wednesday
The Timberwolves' official account on X posted photos and video of Karl-Anthony Towns back at The Courts at Mayo Clinic Square on Wednesday. It appears the big man was there to get a few shots up on the court, lift weights and get some reps in with the training staff ahead of the team's big week next week.
Heading into his tenth NBA season, this is nothing new for Towns. He is one of the most senior members of this team, and he recognizes his position as a leader for the younger members of the roster. Getting in the gym before everyone else to set the example and set a standard is one of the most important things you can do as an elder statesman on your team.
Clearly, KAT is ready to make a statement this season. The best-shooting big man in the NBA looks to be in great shape and ready to work hard toward getting the Timberwolves a championship. This should be a tremendous sight for Wolves fans to see with four weeks remaining until the start of the regular season.
