Plenty of Minnesota Timberwolves fans are excited about the prospect of Rob Dillingham playing meaningful minutes for this team next season. After all, the Wolves traded way up into the lottery just to acquire him, and the organization has been open and honest about the fact that they have high hopes for him.

In a best-case scenario, Rob will become the heir apparent to Mike Conley as the Timberwolves' starting point guard, giving them another franchise cornerstone to lean on for years to come. He has even been noticed by NBA executives already, yet another promising sign of things to come.

If you want more proof that everyone within the organization and within the locker room in Minnesota is embracing Dillingham and making him feel welcome, look no further than the latest video posted on Karl-Anthony Towns' account on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, around 50 seconds in, KAT is shown on the phone with Rob's father.

Towns to Dillingham's father: 'I got him'

The caption at this point in the video states "On the phone: Mr. Dillingham," to make it clear who Towns is talking to. KAT is shown saying the words, "Whatever it may be, I got him," referring to Rob. "Don't even worry. Your son is with his brother now. Welcome to Minnesota, I can't wait to show him what playoff basketball looks like."

There may be a tear rolling down the face of Timberwolves fans as they read these words. Towns has always fully embraced being in Minnesota, and now he is embracing the role of a mentor and reaching out to the team's draft pick and his family, likely before he even arrived in town.

It certainly seems that Rob Dillingham already has everything he needs to succeed in the Twin Cities. The Wolves' veterans are already connecting with him and taking him under their wing, and this phone call should only serve to increase the optimism surrounding his rookie season.
