Moving to 2-0 in Summer League competition, the Minnesota Timberwolves are showcasing why many thought they pulled off one of the best draft nights of any team in the association. On the brink of reaching the NBA Finals this past season, Timberwolves management opted to bring in players that were proven and would have an opportunity to help the team from the jump.

That is just what they got in Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Junior. Minnesota had strong feeling about Dillingham, choosing to move up to eighth in the lottery in order to acquire him. The Wolves used their other first-round pick on Shannon, who many believed was worthy of going earlier in round one.

A strong and physically capable wing, Shannon is well-equipped to become a rotation player in Chris Finch's system right away. He demonstrated this with a stellar performance in the team's second Summer League win on Sunday.

Terrence Shannon led the Wolves to 2-0 in Summer League

Putting up a team-high 19 points, Terrence showed that he is a man amongst boys in this Summer League showcase. Plenty of the players he is competing against are simply vying for roster spots, while Shannon is already set to be an NBA player with legitimate minutes in just a few months.

Terrence made six of his 11 shot attempts, blocking three shots and earning himself eight trips to the foul line, making seven of his attempts. It was an efficient game for someone who has already shown himself to be perhaps the most capable player on this roster.

This Summer League will continue to be an excellent opportunity for Shannon to continue refining his game while playing against overmatched competition. With any luck at all, it should prepare him even more to be a real impact player for the Timberwolves come October.
