Fans are more than aware of the rich jersey history the Minnesota Timberwolves boast. The organization has put out some of the most dazzling jersey designs in the history of the NBA, including the iconic home white jerseys from the early 90's that were so iconic the team brought them back as a classic edition this past season.

Currently, Minnesota has donned the same primary uniform set since the start of the 2017-18 season when Nike officially took over for Adidas in designing each NBA team's jersey. Many fans have been hoping for a refresh, but the association, icon and statement edition uniforms will all be the same for at least the 2024-25 season.

Recently, Rob Dillingham took part in a rookie photoshoot. Fans got their first glimpse of the eighth-overall pick in a Wolves jersey as he sported the charcoal-and-green statement edition jersey. But as social media users flipped through the pictures, there was one noticeable omission - no more 'Aura' patch.

The Timberwolves have dropped 'Aura' as the jersey patch sponsor

Aura is a cybersecurity app that uses VPN and antivirus technology to protect users' sensitive data. The Timberwolves first adopted Aura as their jersey patch sponsor back in October 2021, at the start of Anthony Edwards' second professional season.

With the patch no longer visible on Minnesota's jerseys, it marks the first time the Wolves have not had an active jersey patch sponsor since the 2020-21 season. The team will likely be on the lookout for a replacement sponsor, but a partnership may or may not come to fruition before the start of next season.

Many on social media are disappointed with this development, largely given how the term 'Aura' has come to be synonymous with 'cool points' in pop culture. Timberwolves fans could say their team had 'Aura' for the simple fact that it said so on their jerseys. Now, fans will have to wait to see if the next sponsor brings anything new and exciting to the table.
