Now, oddsmakers have given the Timberwolves a little respect heading into Game 2 of the series on Tuesday night.

Timberwolves fans will love team’s odds to beat Phoenix in first round

Following its 25-point win in the series opener, Minnesota’s odds to advance to the second round of the playoffs have ballooned. The Timberwolves were around even money (+100) before the series but are now -176 ($100 bet wins $56.82)  to advance past the Suns, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Those odds carry an implied probability of 63.77% that Minnesota will move on to the second round of the Western Conference Postseason.

Minnesota is now fourth on the FanDuel odds board to win the Western Conference at +700.

The Timberwolves are tied with the New York Knicks as the sixth-favorite to win the NBA Finals at +1800.

Timberwolves a small favorite in Game 2

Minnesota was a small, 1.5-point favorite in Game 1. The Timberwolves shot 50% from the field, used their elite defense to suffocate the Phoenix offense and got 33 points from star guard Anthony Edwards (now third on FanDuel at +1000 to be named Western Conference Finals MVP) to easily cover the small spread.

Minnesota is not only getting love in the futures market, but the Timberwolves have also grown to a bigger favorite in Game 2 of the series. According to FanDuel, Minnesota is a 3-point favorite (-154 money line) in Game 2 on Tuesday night.

Minnesota is 15-21-2 ATS as a home favorite this season and Phoenix is 9-7 ATS as a road underdog.
