The 2024 NBA free agency period has been a busy one, and the Minnesota Timberwolves have been hard at work building their roster for next season. The Wolves' plan from the start was to mostly run back last season's team with some minor improvements where possible.

They will be keeping their same starting lineup of Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert intact. But with some new contracts kicking in, that means they will be restricted financially. As such, Kyle Anderson was expected to be expendable, and his departure was likely the biggest loss Minnesota will endure this offseason.

Anderson was the Timberwolves' biggest free agent this summer, but others still remain part of the equation as well. The Joe Ingles signing was a swift and calculated move that should largely make up for the loss of Kyle, while other smaller additions will boost this team going forward as well.

2024 Timberwolves free agents:

  • Kyle Anderson - sign-and-trade to Golden State Warriors
  • Jordan McLaughlin
  • Monte Morris - signed with Phoenix Suns
  • T.J. Warren
  • Luka Garza - re-signed with Timberwolves
  • Daishen Nix (restricted free agent)

Below are all the moves Minnesota has made in free agency thus far, along with the details behind each free agency move for rostered Timberwolves players.

Update: Joe Ingles signs with Timberwolves

Nearly immediately after losing Kyle Anderson, Timberwolves management showed they were prepared for that outcome by inking Joe Ingles to a one-year deal. Ingles should be able to replace Kyle's scoring, and he comes in with instant chemistry with former teammates Conley, Gobert, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

Update: Timberwolves sign PJ Dozier

The former Nuggets guard suffered a torn ACL in 2021 and was forced to play overseas. Now, he makes his return to the NBA on what will likely be a minimum deal.

Update: Monte Morris signs with Suns

After joining the Wolves at the trade deadline, Monte Morris will be leaving Minnesota to join Phoenix on a veteran minimum deal. The Timberwolves opted to get the vet off the books with Rob Dillingham arriving in town.

Update: Timberwolves sign-and-trade Kyle Anderson to Warriors

After much deliberation, the Wolves reluctantly agreed not to re-sign Kyle Anderson, dealing him to Golden State in a sign-and-trade deal. Tim Connelly partly wanted to keep Slo-Mo around, but opted to save the money with their current financial situation.

Update: Luka Garza re-signs with Timberwolves

Minnesota's young and versatile big man agreed to a minimum extension with the organization that will keep him with the team through the 2025-26 season.
