Media day will be here for the Minnesota Timberwolves in just six more days. Wolves fans will have to wait less than a full week to see all their favorite players back in front of a microphone, and it will finally feel like basketball season once again.

The day after, Minnesota's players and coaches will come together to commence training camp. The end of the week will see the Timberwolves partake in their first preseason game. The NBA season is truly not far off at this point.

With the Wolves' roster now mostly set, one additional move was made by Minnesota's front office on Tuesday. Per to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, the Timberwolves will also sign Trevor Keels as a training camp addition.

Minnesota will add Trevor Keels for training camp

Now, this name will sound familiar to many, and that is because Keels was briefly a member of this team last season. Trevor began his professional career with the New York Knicks during the 2022-23 NBA season, where he earned just over two and a half minutes of playing time over only three regular season games. After that, Keels became a member of the Timberwolves organization, and he played the 2023-24 season with Minnesota's G League team, the Iowa Wolves.

In G League play last season, Trevor put up 13.5 points and 3.7 assists per game. He came out of college known as a hard-nosed defender, and now he will once again get a chance to show off his defensive chops at Timberwolves training camp.

Some will not give this signing much attention, but Trevor is still just 21 years old. It is within the realm of possibility that he still has some untapped potential. Given the right circumstances during training camp and throughout preseason, Keels could be a name to watch on the list of Timberwolves two-way contract candidates.
