Timberwolves Summer League roster: Full updated list of players
By Austin McGee
Leonard Miller
Experience: 2nd Year
Position: Forward
The Timberwolves selected Leonard Miller with the 33rd pick of the 2023 NBA Draft. Still just 20 years old, Miller took a long winding path to hear his name called in the draft. Hailing from Scarborough, Ontario, the athletic forward spent time suiting up for several high schools in his home county, the United States, and even the now-defunct G-League Ignite.
Despite the long path, Miller was considered a five-star recruit and starred as an 18 and 19-year-old for the Ignite. He averaged 15.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game before hearing his name called in the draft.
Following his lone season in the G-League, Miller split his time between the Iowa Wolves and the active roster. Playing for the Timberwolves' G-League affiliate, he averaged 16.2 points and connected on 52.8 percent of his field goals. In the NBA, he only appeared in 17 games and scored 29 points. However, he only turned the ball over once and drilled 65.0 percent of his field goal attempts.
The 6-foot-10 forward is a prime breakout candidate in the summer league. He's competed for two years against professionals and will likely be leaned upon as a sophomore following Kyle Anderson's free-agent departure. Watch for Miller to be used as a facilitator and roll-man in the upcoming games.
