Terrence Shannon Jr.

Experience: Rookie

Position: Wing

The Timberwolves' other first-round pick, Terrence Shannon Jr. is a superb scorer. Shannon Jr. is reminiscent of the early 2000s swingmen. He's 6-foot-6 and a fantastic athlete. The Illinois standout averaged 23.0 points and attempted 8.6 free throws per game as a graduate senior.

Prior to playing for the Fighting Illini, Shannon Jr. spent three seasons in Lubbock. As a Red Raider, Shannon Jr. stoodout, but never truly made his mark. He averaged just 11.0 points per game playing for Texas Tech. His ascension once he transferred to Illinois was drastic.

Shannon Jr. averaged 20.2 points across two seasons in Champaign. The athletic swingman is a downhill driver who can also knock down shots from the mid-range and behind the arc. Watching Shannon Jr. in a summer league setting will assuredly be fun. He's at his best attacking the rim in transition and when the defense is in disarray.

Although he isn't much of a creator, Shannon Jr. has displayed some playmaking potential. He's typically a score-first player but can facilitate if need be. Although the 23-year-old is a vaunted scorer, he didn't start hitting a high-volume of threes consistently until his final season.

The summer league will offer Shannon Jr. a setting to work on his spot-up shooting and secondary playmaking. Additionally, the Wolves brass will get their first glimpse of their future reserve backcourt between Dillingham and Shannon Jr.
