Javonte Cooke
Experience: Rookie
Position: Wing
Javonte Cooke surely has one of the most interesting stories of any Wolves' summer leaguer. Cooke began his collegiate career at USC Aiken, a Division II school in South Carolina. However, Cooke redshirted and never appeared in a single contest.
After redshirting as a freshman, Cooke transferred to another Division II school—Mars Hill in North Carolina. At Mars Hill, Cooke averaged 14.0 points across 47 appearances. Next up on the list of schools, the 6-foot-6 guard enrolled at Winston-Salem.
As a senior, Cooke averaged 17.5 points per game for the Rams. Following his collegiate career, the South Carolina native latched on with the Iowa Wolves. He averaged 7.5 points in 18.4 minutes per game as a rookie in the G League.
After impressing for Iowa, Cooke played for the Timberwolves summer league squad a season ago. Minnesota decided to keep the swingman around, and it paid dividends. He averaged 16.1 points per game and led the Wolves in three-pointers this past season.
