Nojel Eastern
Experience: Rookie
Position: Wing
A four-star recruiting out of high school, Nojel Eastern took his talents to Purdue. Although highly recruited, Eastern's game never took off after three subtle seasons in West Lafayette. Eastern's best season came as a sophomore when he averaged 7.5 points per game.
After three seasons playing for the Boilermakers, Eastern decided to transfer to Howard. However, the 6-foot-7 wing was unable to clear admissions and ultimately opted to declare for the NBA Draft. Eastern went undrafted and later signed a contract with Rayos de Hermosilla—a Mexican basketball club.
Eastern made the All-Star team for the Rayos and later signed with the Halcones Rojos Veracruz, a squad in Mexico's best league, the LNBP. Just a few months later, Eastern heard his name called in the G-League draft. The Wolves selected the former Boilermaker with the 41st overall pick.
The lanky wing averaged 8.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in his inaugural season in the G-League. Eastern projects as a good defender and opportunistic scorer on the offense end. While he doesn't shoot many threes, he's an adept finisher around the rim.
