Jesse Edwards
Experience: Rookie
Position: Center
Former Syracuse and West Virginia standout Jesse Edwards is a mountain of a man. Standing nearly 7-foot tall with a 7-foot-5 wingspan, Edwards is an old-school big. He uses his 235-pound frame to gain deep position and score using a wide array of moves in the post.
After two seasons of limited playing time, the Dutch-born big man broke out as a junior. Edwards averaged 12.0 points, 6.5 boards, and 2.8 blocks as a junior before increasing his scoring and rebounding averages to 14.5 and 10.3 as a senior.
Following his senior season, Edwards transferred to West Virginia to finish his collegiate career. In Morgantown, Edwards again upped his points per game average to 15.0 as a graduate senior. The 24-year-old center also led the Mountaineers in rebounds, blocks, and free throw attempts.
In the NBA, Edwards projects as a rim-running center. Edwards isn't overly athletic, but he's mobile enough to roll to the rim and catch lobs. On defense, the 24-year-old is a plus rebounder who will block a bevy of shots without fouling at a high rate.
