The Minnesota Timberwolves are the best team in the league, as things currently stand. Well, they are the best team in the league when it comes to overall record, despite losing to the New Orleans Pelicans just a few days ago. They are 17-5, tied with the Boston Celtics with the best record, yet they still aren't getting the praise they deserve.
While that is another story for another day, the Timberwolves have managed to stay at the top of the Western Conference and the NBA as a whole, all while being without two of their key players - Jaden McDaniels and Jordan McLaughlin. Oh, and Anthony Edwards missed a few games with a hip pointer as well.
The Timberwolves have found a recipe for success and are sticking with it despite some of the injuries they are having. Luckily, this team is built with great depth, and head coach Chris Finch has been coaching well. But their schedule doesn't get easier. They have some pretty tough games coming up in December, including one on Thursday night against the Dallas Mavericks.
What makes the game even more difficult is the fact that they could be without three key players: Anthony Edwards, a top-10 player in the league; Jaden McDaniels, their best wing defender; and Jordan Mclaughlin, one of the few backup point guard options they have.
The three of them showed up on Wednesday's injury report with the following:
- Anthony Edwards is questionable with a hip pointer.
- Jaden McDaniels has a right ankle sprain and is questionable.
- Jordan McLaughlin is questionable with a right knee MCL sprain.
The Timberwolves could be without two starters and one key role player for a very important matchup. Luckily, they have been in similar situations before and prevailed with a win. This Timberwolves team just knows how to win.
