The Minnesota Timberwolves are building something special. The team's vision is coming to fruition, and many consider Minnesota one of the top threats in the association to take home a championship in the next couple of seasons.
Boasting a roster filled with varying types of talent, the Timberwolves are well-equipped to take on challengers like the Thunder, Nuggets and other teams from the West in their pursuit of a title. But recently, it was revealed that Minnesota possesses another hallmark of a champion as well.
Appearing on KFAN, Minnesota's sports radio station, Timberwolves President Tim Connelly shared that the team's practice facility at Mayo Clinic Square has been "full" this summer. This is an excellent sign for Minnesota's road ahead.
Connelly: Timberwolves' practice facility has been "full" this summer
Bear in mind that the summer is typically a time for NBA athletes to take some sort of time off. Many guys will travel to the islands, take an extended vacation with their family or friends, and enjoy a much-needed break from the grueling NBA season schedule.
But even for certain players that significantly limit their time off, not much time is typically spent at their team's practice facility. Many players have private gyms they can go to in order to work with individual trainers, or out-of-town gyms they frequent.
The fact that we are hearing the Timberwolves' practice court has been filled with the players all summer is a major sign of encouragement. Understanding that, in all likelihood, no one from Minnesota's coaching staff pressured players to come in and work out at the facility, but they did this on their own volition, is a huge deal.
This shows a huge level of team chemistry and commitment to the Timberwolves as a whole. Players being enthusiastic about spending time with their teammates and just about being in Minnesota in general should have fans even more excited for the season.
