The Minnesota Timberwolves will take the floor for their first contest of 2025 when they host the Boston Celtics at Target Center on Thursday evening. The Wolves come into the game as winners of three of their last four, with the only loss coming on New Year's Eve to a stacked Oklahoma City Thunder squad.
Prior to that, Minnesota had taken down two playoff squads in the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets, showing their steady improvement. There are still a lot of things to clean up before this team becomes the optimal version of itself, but progress is clearly being made. As Chris Finch continues to experiment with different lineups, Anthony Edwards and the rest of the Timberwolves are finding some answers to their issues on offense.
Just like Tuesday's game against the Thunder, the Celtics will present a significant and obvious challenge to Minnesota. Many would argue that OKC and Boston are the two most complete teams in the association right now, and the Wolves will have to put together a complete performance at both ends of the floor to have any hope of slowing down Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the Celtics' five-out offense.
