Johnny Juzang hasn't played much for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. In fact, he has played in just 67 total minutes, including under five minutes of meaningful minutes. However, Juzang has been active for 43 games. Since he's a two-way player, Juzang is only eligible to be active for seven more games.

The Wolves have an open standard roster spot, so Juzang's contract would be converted without the team having to make another roster move. Assuming he is active for the seven remaining games, the Wolves have no choice but to convert his contract or have him spend some time in the G League. Since he hasn't played in the G League yet this season, I doubt this is a real possibility.
I assume that the Wolves have waited to do so as converting him later in the season saves the franchise money, something they desperately need to account for given their high payroll. While the Wolves don't think Juzang is good enough to earn minutes, they clearly value him enough to keep him active.
As such, I would be surprised if Juzang's contract isn't converted soon.
Juzang's contract will (likely) be converted shortly before the trade deadline
The timing of Juzang's possible contract conversion is interesting. Assuming he remains active, Juzang's 50th game will come on February 2. That's just four days before the trade deadline. Converting Juzang could give the Wolves an extra cheap contract to match salaries -- that's an interesting possibility.
In the meantime, I'd like to see the Wolves give Juzang a chance in the rotation. Now that's easier said than done, given how loaded the Wolves' top-six is, and frankly, I'd be shocked if Juzang ever plays real minutes. However, the Wolves' bench lacks scoring (they are bottom 10 in bench points and minutes), and Juzang can surely provide a scoring boost. Notably, Juzang averaged 8.9 points on 37 percent shooting from beyond the arc last year with the Utah Jazz.
Again, I don't expect Juzang to get any real minutes, but if the Wolves value him enough to convert him to a standard deal, why not play him? And if the Wolves view Juzang as a possible trade candidate in a larger deal, giving him some minutes could help his value.
Regardless of whether Juzang plays a depth role for the rest of the year or even gets traded, it's fair to expect that his deal gets converted within the next few weeks.
