Every single avid NBA watcher likely has League Pass, a way to watch not only their favorite team but also every team in the league. Besides everyone's favorite team, there are always a couple of teams each season that simply play beautiful basketball, and it attracts a lot of viewership.
For me, I'm obviously a huge Minnesota Timberwolves fan, but in recent history, I've had teams I tried to catch as many games as possible because their brand of basketball was so fun. The 2025 Indiana Pacers, the 2022 Memphis Grizzlies, the 2019 Toronto Raptors, and the healthy Zion Williamson/Brandon Ingram New Orleans Pelicans are a few of my favorites in recent years.
For this upcoming season, I think the Wolves are going to be extremely high on that list for others.
The Wolves will be must-watch TV this season
I think it's fair to say that any team with Anthony Edwards is going to rank pretty high in watchability. He's one of, if not the best, athletes in the NBA; he can lead the league in 3-pointers, and he's going to do it all with a smile on his face, talking trash, and not flopping.
To pair with him, the Wolves added one of the flashiest playmakers the NBA has ever seen. Some of the passes that LaMelo Ball completes defy what should be allowed in basketball. He also has the ability to make the most difficult shots look routine. From one-legged floaters and threes to 35-footers, there's not a lot of looks that Ball will pass up.
When I mentioned how good Ball was as a passer, that included lob passes. As for threats to catch those lobs, the Wolves have those in spades. Rudy Gobert, Jonathan Kuminga, Joan Beringer, Jaden McDaniels, and Terrence Shannon Jr. all have extremely impressive above-the-rim finishing traits. Now, they'll have someone who can ignite a lot of highlight plays for them.
The biggest thing about the Wolves, and being a team that will likely produce a lot of highlights, is that they'll also be an extremely good team who are expected to compete for a championship. There are a lot of teams in the league with a solid highlight factor, but if they're lottery teams, it isn't going to matter as much.
This is the most excited I've been for a Wolves season in the 10-plus years I've been a fan, and if I had to make a prediction, it is that they finish top three in league pass rankings despite not having the biggest market.
That would be an impressive feat for a team that, seven years ago, had stadiums half-empty.
