Anthony Edwards has been listed as questionable for the Minnesota Timberwolves Game 1 tilt against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. He has only played in three of the Wolves’ last 14 games, as he has been dealing with a knee injury that has dragged out over the course of about a month.

Obviously, without Edwards, the Wolves could struggle in the first round. The Denver Nuggets ended the season on a hot stretch, and having to take them on without their star player would very much be an uphill battle for the Wolves. However, it looks like there’s still a chance Edwards could suit up.

And whether or not he does will be one of the top storylines to follow heading into Saturday night.

Anthony Edwards questionable for Game 1 vs. Nuggets

The Nuggets present a lot of challenges. First and foremost, there’s Nikola Jokic—a guy most people view as the best player in the world (if not, then number two behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander).

Then, there’s Jamal Murray. One of the best clutch shot-makers in the business. Add in guys like Aaron Gordon, Cameron Johnson, and Bruce Brown, and there are plenty of things to watch out for when it comes to the Nuggets.

But the Wolves need to worry about themselves. They need to get healthy. Unless that goal is accomplished, then they will automatically be at a disadvantage.

Edwards is one of the best players in the world. With him on the court, the Wolves always have a chance to win whatever game they are playing. Perhaps that’s why they’ve had so much postseason success.

In fact, the Wolves are the very team that spoiled the Nuggets’ attempt at repeating as champions two years ago. But they needed Edwards to do it. Just like they need him if they want to take down the Nuggets this season.

The report looks good. Edwards isn’t out. He’s just questionable. Considering how few games he played in down the stretch of the season, that’s an immediate win for the Wolves.

But it’s not everything. Questionable is still questionable until he’s upgraded to probable or, even better, available. And Minnesota needs Edwards to be available.

Edwards doesn’t seem like the type of guy to be okay with missing a playoff game. So, unless the Wolves’ medical staff forces Edwards to sit out, he’ll probably play. But for now, it’s just a waiting game.

A waiting game that won’t end until the Wolves provide the next update on Edwards’ status.
