With the NBA season just over half complete, now would be a prudent time to dish out some mid-season awards for the Timberwolves.

Technically speaking, the Wolves are a little over the halfway point, as they are 44 games in after Wednesday’s loss in Dallas. Although it may a tad late, I think it is still worth giving out some mid-season awards for this team.

While it has been a bit of a disappointing season after a promising start, I’m not sure I see the point in making a huge fuss about this team struggling to win games right now. Yes, it is not pretty to watch by any stretch, but this is a very “raw” team by NBA standards. And for the most part, the Wolves have been fairly competitive in games this season, aside from being blown out by some of the more elite teams.

But isn’t that expected? For a young team to suffer growing pains for a season or two? I understand it’s frustrating now, and I have a few gripes of my own, but I don’t think it’s anything to lose sleep over.

In the grand scheme of things, this team is going to be just fine. They’re young, they’re talented, and just imagine the success we can expect once these growing pains are over. It’s going to splendid!

For now, we’ll have to watch and suffer through the growing pains with them, but anyway, here are some mid-season awards.
