What if the Wolves didn’t trade Kevin Garnett?

This trade was inevitable as Garnett was unhappy with Wolves management his last season in Minnesota and the Wolves felt like they needed to start over.

The writing was on the wall that Garnett was going to be traded and well, we know the rest, he goes to Boston and wins a title his first year there. The Wolves, on the other hand, received Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, Al Jefferson, Sebastain Telfair and few future first-rounders for Garnett. Besides Jefferson, all of those players were relatively ineffective in Minnesota. The Wolves have been in rebuilding mode ever since.

But what if Garnett did not get angry at the front office? What if he didn’t get traded? I’d like to think that Wolves would have been able to reload and put better players around Garnett.

If the Wolves front office wanted to make Garnett happy they would have put they players around him to load up for another deep playoff run. Instead, they had surrounded him with Marko Jaric, Mark Blount, and Randy Foye.
