Three Things to Watch

1. Who will be in the lineup for the Denver Nuggets? After starting point guard Emmanuel Mudiay was forced out of action because of spasms suffered against the Clippers on Saturday, its entirely possible that the Nuggets will be without their starting back court. Starting shooting guard Gary Harris has been out of action the last three games due to a sprained ankle and is questionable for tonight’s game.

2. Can the Wolves slow down the Nuggets offense? Denver ranks fourth in the league in scoring at 109.6 points per game. They are 3rd in scoring points in the paint  and 8th in fast-break points but due to their poor efforts on the defensive end, they post a scoring margin of -2.1, which ranks them at 19th in the league.

Prior to holding the Clippers to 98 points, the Nuggets had given up 100 points in 18 straight games, tying them with Brooklyn as the longest streak in the league. The Wolves should be able to score against the Denver but the question remains if the Wolves can slow down Denver enough to gain victory.

3. Can the Timberwolves match-up with Denver’s bench unit? The Nuggets boast the third-highest scoring bench in the league at 41.8 points a game. If the starting back court is unable to play due to injury that will only take away from the scoring power on their second unit. The Wolves don’t score a lot of points off their bench but will need to hold their own on the defensive end in order to improve Minnesota’s chance of winning.
