6. Wolves win 50 games.

Yeah, Thibs, I see you with your goofy smile up there. Depending on who you ask, Minnesota is expected to just barely miss out on the 50 win mark, as most betting sites have them somewhere around in the area of 48.5.

When we’re only talking a couple of games here and there the lucky bounce of a ball can become the difference between a victory and a devastating loss. To that same point, there’s a saying in basketball, “the ball finds those who hustle.”

While Minnesota may not be known as a scrappy team that is all about to change. Jimmy Butler is one of the hardest working players on the court and that desire to win will rub off on his younger teammates. It’s amazing how much harder a player will work when he finds himself in meaningful games on a nightly basis.

Aside from hustle, the other major concern is the Wolves ability to space the floor with their lack of outside shooters. I will be the first one to raise my hand and admit I have raised these same concerns.

Even if Minnesota struggles to make 3-pointers at a league average clip, they will have no problems putting the ball in the hoop. This scoring ability is what matters most and spacing is the latest trend to making that feat less difficult.

When all is said and done, we will be pleasantly surprised with the way Minnesota’s regular season pans out.
