As we get closer to the Jimmy Butler trade saga being over with, here at Dunking With Wolves we have 29 ideas to get Butler out of a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey – you’ve probably seen 10 of them.

After this post, we’ll have completed Minnesota Timberwolves‘ 4-time All-Star Jimmy Butler trade ideas to all 14 teams in the Western Conference, if you’d like to see the first few posts click here and then here.

As you probably know by now, Jimmy Butler has gone a little bit haywire. He recently showed up to practice and beat the entire 1st team with 3rd team players next to him.

Here’s more accurate reporting from Jimmy himself on why he did this:

"Via, CBS Sports “You gotta think, I haven’t played basketball in so long, and I’m so passionate and I love the game, and I don’t do it for any other reason except for to compete and go up against the best to try to prove that I can hang,” Butler said. “So all my emotion came out at one time. Was it the right way to do it? No. But I can’t control that when I’m out there competing. That’s my love of the game. That’s raw me — me at my finest, me at my purest — that’s what you’re gonna get inside the lines. “I think that I was honest. Was I brutally honest? Yes. But I think that’s the problem. Everybody’s so scared to be honest with one another. If you didn’t like the way that I handled myself in practice, one of the players come up to me. Somebody say something — anybody. I’m not gonna take it offensively — it’s not personal. ‘Jimmy, you shouldn’t have done that.’ ‘Yeah, you probably right.’ And I would have said, I ain’t hooped in I don’t know how long. I mean, I’m passionate about it. I love the game and I love to win. And that’s all I was out there doing was competing, playing hard, doing what I’m supposed to do on the basketball floor.”"

This may seem like a hardworking player to you, but it sounds like Butler may have had his last chance in Minnesota. It’s obvious he can’t control himself and is out of control, a trade needs to happen as soon as possible.

But the question remains, where to? Butler could potentially fit on any roster, but who has the best assets to give Minnesota a fighting chance?

We’ll be looking at four teams today, specifically the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, and Memphis Grizzlies. Some of these moves don’t give Minnesota or their trade partners realistic chances on making a deal happen, but it’s interesting to see what the possibilities are when no one knows what’ll happen next.

All of these trades contractually work and are legal through the ESPN trade machine.
