NY Knicks need big help, so why not target Timberwolves?

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks, a team absolutely desperate for solid play at the center position, has climbed from the obscurity of the 2021-22 NBA season to play to an 8-7 record.  That has ignited some NBA analysts to speculate that a team starving for success could become furiously active at the NBA Trade Deadline this season, a date that looms quite large for the Minnesota Timberwolves it seems.

But there is a natural connection right now between the Timberwolves and the Knicks, and that connection is the NY Knicks Senior Basketball Advisor, Gersson Rosas. You see, he was the previous Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations.

Now that there is a bridge, NBA analysts and pundits are more than happy to cross from one side to the other, particularly when the topic involves speculating how the Knicks can secure their surprising early-season success and leverage that into a formidable postseason-worthy roster over the course of this season.

If the goal for the Timberwolves is to recoup NBA Draft picks, the New York Knicks are a great trade partner, as they currently hold three first-round 2023 NBA Draft picks. They have rights to their own pick, that of the Dallas Mavericks (Top 10 protected), that of the Detroit Pistons (Top 18 protected), and that of the Washington Bullets (Top 14 protected).
