When most people think of Anthony Edwards, they probably think about his otherworldly athleticism, despite his 3-point growth. And how could you not? His athleticism pops more than just about anyone in a league of absurd athletes.

However, Edwards has never been better at attacking the rim than he has been this year. In past years, Ant was certainly great at the rim, but it was clear there was another level for him to reach. Now, though, Edwards is an elite finisher at the rim.

Undoubtedly, this improved finishing is helping Edwards reach another level as a scorer, and it could help the Wolves reach another level as a team.

Edwards' improved finishing is a game-changer

Per DataBallr, Edwards is shooting 74.2 percent at the rim (86th percentile) on 4.5 attempts. While Edwards' rim attempts are actually tied (with last season) for a career-low, he's never been more efficient at the rim. Despite his volume being down, he still ranks in the 96th percentile for rim attempts. In terms of efficiency, Edwards' previous career-best was 69 percent at the rim (75th percentile).

Likewise, Edwards is shooting a career-best 59.3 percent on drives, despite his raw drives (11.6 per game) being lower than his career average. Over the last 10 games, Edwards is averaging 13.4 drives (which is more in line with his typical numbers), and he is shooting 60.8 percent on these drives.

Edwards' improved rim efficiency has helped him level up as a scorer. He is currently averaging a career-high of 28.7 points.

When Edwards is driving with such elite force and efficiency, he's truly unstoppable as a scorer. I mean, how can you stop someone who can drain 3-pointers, beat you at the rim, and pull up from mid-range?

Edwards' improved shooting has helped him become more efficient at the rim. Likewise, it explains why his volume is slightly down. The first part seems straightforward, but the second part might sound counterintuitive. Let me explain: before, it was easier to pack the paint on Edwards or try to force him to shoot mid-range jumpers. Now you simply have to pick your poison, and Ant will still likely find a way to beat you no matter what.

It's fair to have some level of skepticism amid a 15-9 start for the Timberwolves, but Edwards' play should inspire confidence about the team's upside. With Edwards' improved rim efficiency and overall shooting, he is quickly becoming a matchup nightmare, which will especially help the Wolves come playoff time.
